Party and celeb gossip

As a celebrity reporter, it's Zoe Griffin's job to party with celebs! Here she shares her career highlights, the style tricks she's learnt from the stars and, of course, some juicy gossip!

What celeb events have been in your calendar this week?
The BAFTAs, The BRITs, Elle Style Awards and the start of London Fashion Week - it's been a busy one!

Tell us some gossip...

Colin Firth may look sensible but he stayed out the latest at the BAFTAs - I was still dancing with him at 3am and I think he left at 4am.
At the Brit Awards, Cheryl Cole and Rihanna said they had crushes on each other, wouldn't they make a gorgeous couple! Take That were on the wagon - no alcohol for them - but they spent £400,000 on drinks for others at the after-party at the Savoy.
Best Brits' dress by far was Cheryl Cole's - she looked stunning in a Stella McCartney sequin dress with thigh-high split.

Who's the most famous person in your phone?
I have a few numbers for Amy Winehouse (but she changes her phone a lot). I'm most proud of having the number of Blue's Duncan James as I had a crush on him when I was younger!

Who have you most enjoyed interviewing?
Blue's Duncan James! I was also very impressed when I interviewed Victoria Beckham: she's very clever, very witty and manages to juggle work, motherhood and a fashion career.

How long does it take you to get ready to go to a red carpet event?

Fifteen mins max as I always end up going straight from the office. That's the sad part about being a journalist - you have to prepare questions beforehand so you never get enough time to get ready.

Have you learnt any beauty and style tricks from celebs over the years?
Leona Lewis gave me the best beauty trick - if you don't have time to wash your hair then use Batiste dry shampoo with a hairdryer for an instant blow-dry.
In terms of style, I take inspiration from Victoria Beckham who told me she never wears flat shoes. At parties, you always feel glamorous in heels.

What trends are appearing on the celeb circuit for spring/summer?
I'm seeing lots of maxi dresses during the award seasons. Also, vintage-inspired dresses as spring/summer is when female celebrities embrace their girly side and lighten up.

What's your fail-safe party outfit?
A very tight little black dress, heels and statement jewellery. I keep a dress in my desk at all times as you never know when you'll get a last minute invite!

Who's your celeb style icon?
I like how Paloma Faith is individual, but my own style is more smart and professional like Victoria Beckham, Elle Macpherson and Sandra Bullock and I admire Nicole Kidman's poise.

What's your favourite celeb hangout?
The May Fair Hotel, The Wolseley Restaurant, the Shoreditch House pool and then Jalouse nightclub for dancing until dawn.

Which Lipsy pieces will you be adding to your spring/summer shopping list?
The new Lipsy one-shoulder beaded chiffon dress looks vintage and would be great with heels and a cute hair clip. The Lipsy frill front strapless dress would get me noticed at a party and I also love the ruffle back mac - you've got to turn up to a party in style, whatever the weather.
