New season must-haves

Kate Middleton Lipsy

Flower child - embrace your feminine side in fade-out florals, as seen on Alexa and Rihanna. Look for retro-style dresses that nip-in at the waist, or smocks, such as our long sleeve flower print dress. Floaty boho numbers are going to be everywhere this summer as the Seventies continues to inspire style on catwalks and high-streets alike. Wear with a chunky knit, leggings and boots now and with bare legs and bangles when it hots up.

Play out - The playsuit is proving that it has real fashion staying power - good news if you invested last summer! Bold florals and cute prints adorn this season's short suits, with longer styles boasting the wide-legs and halter-neck styles made popular in the Seventies. Our multi-heart print playsuit will be perfect for the festival season, worn with knee-high socks and wellies.

Fabulous Fifties - Channel Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O and Chanel chic in stylish monochrome numbers with a 1950s twist this season. Pair LBDs in shift and smock styles with sheer tights and Mary Janes and accessorise with pearl necklaces and bracelets. Peter Pan-style collars are also key to this retro look and the new delicately embellished beaded collar dress ticks all the boxes.

A royal engagement - With a royal wedding to look forward to this season, it's only right that we up the game a bit with regards to elegance and sophistication. Our blue panelled slinky dress, similar to the one Kate Middleton wore to announce her engagement, oozes class. A little more demure than our usually party numbers, it's perfect for occasions that demand understated glamour. Wear it to celebrate the one-off bank holiday by hosting your own party, or at Ladies Day at the races this summer.
