Lipsy's Big Review of the Year
As 2010 draws to a close, we look back at the celeb stories that have had us scrambling to get on Facebook to share the gossip, the fashion that we've lusted over and the Lipsy news we've excitedly shared with all you Lipsy girls.
This is what we'll remember of 2010 - what's on your list?
The Royal Engagement
After nine years together, Prince William finally plucked up the courage to ask Kate Middleton to marry him as the royal couple holidayed in Kenya in October.
When the engagement was announced on 16 November it, of course, sparked a media frenzy, and we loved the way Wills dealt with questions about why he had waited so long, quipping to a reporter at The Sun:
"I don't remember how many years it's been - forgetful memory - and I also didn't realise it was a race, otherwise I probably would have been a lot quicker!"
The engagement also means that we can say that Lipsy is fit for a (future) queen - Kate was spotted out partying in one of our dresses a couple of years ago!
RIP Alexander McQueen
The fashion world was plunged into darkness on 11 February when it was announced that one the industries brightest stars, Alexander McQueen, had died.
The British designer, who was named Fashion Designer of the Year four times during his illustrious career, dressed fashion royalty, and Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney and Anna Wintour were among the guests to attend his memorial service.
Responsible for some of the most iconic styles of the past decade, we'll remember McQueen for his graphic prints, skull scarves and 'Lady Gaga' monster heels. RIP Lee.
What a year for Cheryl Cole
2010 will certainly be a year Cheryl Cole won't forget, even if she'd like to!
In February, news broke that Ashley had cheated on her with several women and, not willing to take him back for a second time, Cheryl announced that the couple were separating.
The singer filed for a divorce on 26 May, citing "unreasonable behaviour" as the reason for the break-up, and was granted a decree nisi on 3 September.
As if a bad bout of heartbreak wasn't enough to deal with, Cheryl was then diagnosed with malaria during the X Factor auditions stage, which she is believed to have contracted while holidaying in Tanzania with friend and backing dancer Derek Hough.
And just as she'd recovered and returned to the show, there was Gamu-gate to contend with, as well as stories about in-fighting among her girls' group.
Phew, what a year! We hope you have a better one in 2011, Cheryl.
The Return of the Boyband
With JLS seemingly everywhere, proving that the X Factor 'losers' are anything but, The Wanted topping the charts and One Direction prompting hysteria on Saturday nights, 2010 saw the return of the boy band.
We're lucky enough to have partied with JLS and The Wanted at our fragrance launch party in September, and hope to see more of One D next year!
Oh, and as if we needed more proof that boy bands are back, Robbie rejoined Take That! Okay, they're more of a man band, but like great wine, they just seem to get better with age!
The Top Trends
2010 has been a year of opposition, in more ways than one, with two very different styles making fashion headlines.
Tough military and 90s grunge styles were all over the catwalks and high-street, fashionistas embraced their inner boho goddesses and 60s chic and the bravest of us mixed it all up to create an eclectic 'oh this - I just threw it on' look.
As well as floaty maxis and vintage-inspired lace minis and shifts, some of this year's must-have pieces were to be had in outerwear, with aviator jackets and leopard print faux fur coats making us wish the summer away so we could wear them.
And then there were the trends that divided us all - double denim and fringing: Glasto-cool or cowgirl fail?
Pixie Lott designs for Lipsy
In April we were so excited to announce the launch of our first ever celebrity collection as Pixie Lott designed two ranges exclusively for Lipsy!
Pixie Festival and Pixie Party were sell-out successes, and we were lucky enough to spend some time with the singer herself, grabbing an exclusive interview and partying with Pixie and some of Lipsy's celeb pals at the launch do at Movida.
We were so pleased with Pixie's debut designs that in September we launched her second collection, comprising a new range, Pixie Rocks, and an updated Pixie Party line.
This time round we held the VIP launch party at Camden hotspot Gilgamesh and celebrities including - deep breath - Mollie King, Jade Ewen, Konnie Huq, Dionne Bromfield, Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder, David Gandy, The Wanted, Professor Green, Danielle Lloyd and Lucie Jones turned out to help the popstar celebrate.
Our favourite pieces from her collections have to be the chic vintage-inspired lace mini dresses and playsuits, as well as the shaggy faux fur jacket and biker - must-have outerwear!
Celebs love Lipsy
As well as Pixie adding celeb kudos to the brand, we also enlisted former Pussycat Doll and Got to Dance judge Kimberly Wyatt to be the face of our new watch range this year, and news of celebs spotted wearing Lipsy came in every week.
The girls from The Saturdays were snapped out in Lipsy on numerous occasions, and even chose to wear maxi dresses from our s/s10 range in the video for 'Missing You'.
But they weren't the only stars to show their love of Lipsy. Sarah Harding, Esmee Denters, Alexandra Burke and N-Dubz' Tulisa and the Hollyoaks and Corrie girls were among the celebs choosing Lipsy for some very special occasions.
The Lipsy love also went stateside as we set up shop in select Bloomingdales stores and Paris Hilton, Kelly Rowland, Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Lowndes, Stephanie Pratt and AnnaLynne McCord were spotted rocking various Lipsy pieces.
And while they can't wear our clothes, some uber-hot male celebs turned out for the many VIP parties we held throughout the year.
We bagged some exclusive celeb interviews for the Lipsy blog this year. Find out what the stars had to say by clicking on the links below:

Model competition and fragrance launch
When we asked on Facebook which famous female should be the face of Lipsy's first-ever fragrance, you asked why we needed a celeb at all, so we opened up the search to make one lucky Lipsy girl the star of the campaign.
Thousands of you entered on Facebook and the competition attracted over 300,000 voters, with winner Evelyn Kazantzoglou beating our five other gorgeous finalists to win a modelling contract with Lipsy, as well as a £2,500 Lipsy winter wardrobe, £2,500 cash and a weekend for two in Paris!
Two runners up also walked away with a £250 Lipsy shopping voucher, and celebs such as JLS, Olly Murs and some very sexy soap stars turning out to see The Wanted perform at our fragrance launch party.
This year will definitely be remembered as the year of Facebook at Lipsy HQ. We were able to chat with more than 100,000 of you one-on-one on our wall, answering your clothing queries, order enquiries and generally having a good old natter about all things fashion, celebrity and Lipsy!
We also ran some amazing competitions through the site, giving away a modelling contract, hundreds of pounds worth of
Lipsy vouchers, some gorgeous dresses, concert tickets, signed CDs and much more.
And hundreds of you posted photos of yourselves looking stunning in Lipsy dresses.
Thanks for getting involved girls, and thanks for a great year!
