Falling in love with Autumn

Thu 21 Aug 2014

It maybe the end of Summer nights, BBQ’s and Pimms O’clock but it also has to be one of the most exciting times of the year for fashion! Autumn brings the beginning of new boot shopping, coat investing and putting together our new season wish-lists. As soon as the September issue of Vogue landed on our desks we leaped to check out all of the glamorous new trends we would be sporting, and without fail, Lipsy have the catwalk looks covered.

The Lipsy colour palette for the new season incorporates rich darks of black, moody grey and ox blood red with complementary highlights of silver grey and blush pink. The introduction of inkwell tones, navy hues, layered with ultra marines was inspired by these being the strongest colours to come through the A/W 14 runway shows. These fresh hues have been included into dresses, jumpsuits and separates.

Tuxedo style dressing and sharp modern tailoring is a key catwalk look and can be seen in both tailored two piece suits as well as being integrated into dress and jumpsuit designs.

The key fabrications are a mixture of satin, chiffon, PU and luxe faux furs. Lace has to be the dominate fabric of the season and has been reworked and updated with lace on nude mesh styles to give the impression of lots of skin whilst still remaining ultra elegant.

The jacket and coat selection is better and bigger then ever with perfect work to weekend parkas and trenches. As well as new season shapes such as the long line biker and the texture mix wrap front coat. Finally, evening style faux furs in candy pop shades will bring instant film star charm to your party look.

The cold has never looked more stylish!
