Lipsy Brand Protection Statement

If you find products you believe to be counterfeit, or if you would like to confidentially report suspicious behaviour, or if you have any information you would like to make us aware of, please write to us at brand.protection@lipsy.co.uk or call us on 0207 462 0560.

We aim to protect the Lipsy brand, investigate infringers, enforce alongside official agencies, and prevent further infringements of our rights. Lipsy takes the protection of its Brand very seriously. There are multiple ways to experience the benefits of a genuine Lipsy product by: shopping at one of our stores (standalone store or in Next); on our official website; or from our authorised distributors. If the price is too good to be true, you are likely looking at a counterfeit product.

  • By buying counterfeit goods:
  • • you will not get the quality you would when you buy from Lipsy
  • • you support criminals groups who finance their activities through the sale of counterfeit products and may therefore contribute to illegal activity
  • • you support the production of fake goods which are often made under unacceptable conditions

Lipsy is a unique brand with high standards, and we stand behind anything carrying our trademark. We own a global portfolio of registered and unregistered trademark rights and copyright protection. We actively pursue abuses of our trademark rights against anyone – or any seller – which we feel constitutes an infringement of our absolute rights.

Lipsy Brand Protection News

On May 12th 2014, Lipsy took action against two counterfeit sellers – Jacqueline and Lionel Benhaim – who were convicted at a Magistrates Court for possessing and selling goods bearing the Lipsy logo to the general public from a well-known traders market in South East UK. They received substantial fines and a criminal record for their actions. The case follows a pro-active operation by Lipsy in response to information from members of the public and Trading Standards.

Lipsy's Brand Protection Department stated “the conviction of Jacqueline and Lionel Benhaim sends a strong message to those who sell fake Lipsy goods, and offenders will be brought to justice in criminal courts."

"We continue to target offenders and advertise our results. We will prosecute offenders in a criminal court or take civil action against individuals or stores selling counterfeit Lipsy products, or products which look like Lipsy products."

Data and Card Protection

At Lipsy.co.uk, we take the security of your data very seriously.

To ensure that your personal information is kept secure, every transaction is processed online using the latest industry standards for secure online credit card transactions.

Secure servers protect your information using advanced encryption and firewall technology throughout the ordering process. Lipsy uses high level SSL encryption technology and you can tell whether a page is secure when 'https' replaces 'http' in your browser address window. A small padlock will also appear in the bottom bar of your browser window.

We now have 3D Secure as part of the checkout process on the Lipsy website which provides you with a safer shopping experience when using your credit card online.

Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode follow the same principles as Chip and Pin and help to protect your card against unauthorised use when you shop via the Internet. This process is simple and will give you added protection, security and peace of mind. You may have already registered for this service on another online retail site but if you haven't, the simple process is detailed below.

When you reach the checkout process, you have the opportunity to register for either Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode. To sign up for the service, follow the online instructions which are linked directly to your card issuer. You will be asked to set up your new personal password (which is linked to your card, not the computer) and once your card issuer confirms your identity, you can continue shopping!

The registration process is a one-off, meaning you will be able to use the same password for all your future purchases with all participating retailers. If you have already registered elsewhere, you need only to enter your password when prompted.

Alternatively, you can contact your bank directly to register. Please visit Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode for more information.

If you choose not to register during the checkout process, depending on your card issuer, we may not be able to process your order and a different method of payment will be required to complete your purchase. The above technologies in use whenever you see the logos displayed below.
