Head Office Careers

International VM Coordinator (Mat Cover)

Drive and support commercial performance, robust operational practices and effective marketing in the international markets

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Be a key point of contact for partners on brand, trade and operational queries
  • Join and contribute to trade calls; maintain and monitor agreed actions
  • Work with partners to support product and category performance and make commercial decisions on the shop floor to drive sales and margin
  • Ensure consistent, accurate and quality communication is delivered from head office to franchise partners and stores, to drive performance; in turn ensure that market intelligence is relayed to the UK teams and utilized to best effect
  • Conduct store visits in international markets with the aim of driving trade and maintaining brand integrity/li>
  • Deliver operational training and share best practice including all front of house initiatives, customer service and recruitment
  • Develop market specific operational strategies to support development establishing short, medium and long term objectives
  • Co-ordinate and manage new partner inductions and visits ensuring a through brand induction
  • Support coordination of new stores from the design stage through to opening, ensuring all aspects of the Lipsy environment are delivered on time
  • Oversee the coordination of the quarterly international partner presentations
  • Manage the order and delivery of consumables to international markets and ensure Lipsy approval of any locally supplied items or GWP’s; create packing lists and request additional export documentation as required
  • Work with PR, Social Media and the partners to establish and deliver marketing calendars for the year ahead ensuring support is provided and activity is on brand, including supply of all media and music material to the international stores

The role will focus on maximising sales potential, driving the team forward and helping them to develop their skills. You will also have responsibility for delivering the critical path, stock control and managing margin.

A solid background in fashion retailing is essential. Both current merchandisers and senior merchandisers will be considered for this role. What is the role?

In this role you will support and assist the Merchandise and Buying Teams in delivering all responsibilities of the role whilst developing the necessary skills and knowledge required to develop a career within Merchandising.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Accurately update the key merchandising systems, ensuring each item has been classified correctly
  • Analyse both current and historical data to assist in the planning process
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with suppliers in order to ensure service and support. Ensuring that all style quantities are identified in accordance with the critical path and raised correctly on purchase contracts. Ensuring that discrepancies are highlighted to the team
  • Agreeing delivery dates and raising the purchase contracts on relevant systems
  • Attend and assist in supplier visits, discuss business levels and plan monthly production reservations
  • Attend and assist in progress meetings to ensure that any potential problems are dealt with promptly and effectively in order that all key dates are met, keeping the Merchandiser informed on any actions taken
  • To produce weekly trade and ad-hoc reports
  • Review weekly sales, ensuring that sales are re-forecasted to meet customer demands, placing further orders as and when required
  • Identify poor performance lines and when advised cancel surplus stock as necessary
  • Movement of stock across Retail and Web, ensuring that both Retail sales and on line service level are maximised
  • Individually plan and allocate styles
  • Perform re-grading of stores and communicate changes to Area Managers
  • Build new store packages and manage store closures
  • Report and react on branch and warehouse stock levels
  • Product reports on stock availability, styles available to allocate etc
  • Ensure stock is available for promotions and in line with VM guidelines for window schemes etc
  • Report daily on company sales to the whole business
  • Build branch stock levels in preparation for mid season and end of season sales
  • Complete regular store visits, product reports on findings and action changes accordingly

Essential Skills

  • Numerical and analytical skills
  • Computer literate inc MS Office particularly Excel
  • Highly proficient analysing and interpreting numerical data

International Operations Manager (Mat Cover)

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with UK VM team to understand guidelines and best practice in order to roll out, or adapt for the international markets
  • Liaising with international partners on a weekly basis to review store layout and visual merchandising in order to maintain consistent brand standards and drive sales
  • Liaising with International merchandising teams on the release of new phases, volume drivers or key categories to optimize placement in store and promote launch
  • Training and induction of international partners and supporting with new store openings
