Freelance Art Director >

At Lipsy we are a successful and expanding fashion retail brand looking for a super talented and organised Art Director to deliver outstanding campaign creative for the NEXT directories and brand imagery for e-commerce content.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Art Director looking to move up in to a fast paced fashion brand. You will be extremely proactive forward thinking and use your initiative whilst working closely with the Creative Manager to ensure all creative content is delivered to the photo shoot calendar and deadlines (for 11 NEXT directories a year, brand shoots, key category still life shoots, regular trend shoots and weekly web shoots), so will need to be a highly organised individual as well as a conceptual creative thinker. Working closely with senior members in the business you will have the chance to influence the style and visual look of campaign imagery to be used across home pages, newsletters, banners etc. ensuring that all creative output is consistent with brand message but creatively innovative.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong, proven experience with fashion retail brands and evidence of delivering successful creative campaigns
  • Someone who can drive the brand forward and continually strive to push the brand forward come up with fresh new ideas and create high end imagery
  • Excellent management and directive ability, this person will be making decisions on models, photographers, stylists, hair/makeup and locations on a daily basis
  • Outstanding creative flair and a strong visual sense. This person is responsible for creatively directing the in-house team as well as external creative partners and, as such, will need to be a creditable and influential individual
  • Someone who can successfully promote creative ideas and solutions internally, understanding the wider commercial objectives whilst maintaining a strong focus on brand values, customer experience and innovation
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce and digital usability
  • A genuine passion for fashion retail and consumer trends with a strong eye for detail

Digital Designer (Fixed Term Contract) >

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Designer to join our busy and expanding Ecommerce team at Head Office. Reporting to the Design Manager and working alongside two other Digital Designers, you will carry out the below responsibilities to produce online and offline communications, with an emphasis on digital design for the ecommerce website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop online content including homepages and website features on a weekly basis
  • Upload content to the website using the bespoke Content Management System
  • Design and build various Microsites for specific campaign
  • Update and create HTML and CSS based content for the website
  • Design, build and send out weekly HTML newsletters
  • Provide graphics support for social media channels, banners and other online communications
  • Design and produce print-ready artwork for in-store graphics, POS, flyers and window graphics
  • Design ad hoc online and offline communications for all departments within the company including Retail, PR, Franchise and HR
  • Follow brand guidelines and take creative direction from the Design Manager and other senior members of the team
  • Any other tasks consistent with this role, including general admin support where needed

Experience Required:

  • Relevant arts degree and minimum of 2 years experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
  • Highly creative with a passion for graphic design
  • Technically advanced with an interest in new technical developments and website best practices
  • Being able to work at a fast pace and meet tight deadlines
  • A good working knowledge HTML and CSS
  • Experience using Content Management Systems and email service providers
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Ability to work as a team and communicate with others
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and video editing an advantage

Creative Pattern Cutter >

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Head Office for a talented Creative Pattern Cutter. Lipsy is a fast paced fashion brand and now operates more than 40 stores in the UK and ROI. With exciting future plans in place for both our international and UK markets, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Creative Pattern Cutter looking to gain excellent experience in fast paced, high profile fashion brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside and liaise with designers and machinists on initial sketches and advise on garment construction
  • Responsible for developing all new patterns and sketches
  • Understand trends and designer requirements
  • Innovating catwalk trends and creating high fashion, unique, and best selling shapes for Dresses (including day wear and party wear) in woven's and jersey
  • Technical support to the rest of the creative team
  • Technical knowledge to produce garments whilst maintaining cost efficiency
  • Travel to Chinese factories along with the design team
  • To continually aim to develop yourself, asking your Line Manager for support and guidance
To apply for this position you must have gained extensive experience as a Creative Pattern Cutter, with separates experience in woven's and jersey. You must have also gained a fashion related degree and be experienced in working with a UK high street retailer or supplier.

Online Assistant (Fixed Term Contract) >

Due to the continued growth and success of the Lipsy brand, an exciting new position has been created within our E-Commerce Team of an Online Assistant.

The role of the Online Assistant will assist the Creative team with collation of samples for Photo shoots and ensure prompt upload of imagery and video to the website. You will also be responsible for ensuring the web imagery is of the highest standard and in line with Brand Guidelines.

In this role you will also be required to assist and occasionally attend main campaign shoots and work with the Creative team to source locations, props, models etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Devise accurate and complete shoot lists and prioritise product according to phases or volumes.
  • Attend weekly web shoots and campaign/trend shoots to assist Creative Manager with styling of each outfit ensuring styling is prompt and that the product has not been shot before
  • Develop strong ways of working with the studio when conducting weekly shoots and support with making sure product is available and that model, hair, makeup and studio have been optioned/confirmed. Ensure that all images are delivered on time post shoots according to shoot lists.
  • Work with retouchers to ensure all product is correct for colour, style and length
  • Maintain model/location/crew database and create presentations when required i.e. hair and makeup visuals, creative visuals/still life concepts
  • On shoots take videos or photos for social media content
  • Collaborate with the creative and online teams to ensure effective and efficient ways of working. Regularly review team critical path deadlines
  • Review competitor’s websites on a regular basis to ensure Lipsy creative is on trend and is always fresh and one step ahead. Report findings to Creative Manager
To successfully apply for this position the ideal candidate will have gained some experience or exposure to working within an E-Commerce environment and ideally from within a retail fashion brand, however this is not essential. A genuine interest to develop a career within the online world is required along with a genuine passion for fashion and the Lipsy brand.

You will need to be highly organised with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. Lipsy is a fast paced brand so the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment is essential.

Your main responsibility will be to manage the sales team and shop floor, driving sales and excellent customer service standards to meet and exceed the brand expectations. In this position you will have key holder responsibility for the store with full store accounbility tain the absence of the Store Manager. This would be an ideal next step for an experienced Supervisor, looking for their next step.
