Win tickets to see JLS, Olly Murs & Tinchy Stryder in concert!

Win tickets to see JLS, Olly Murs & Tinchy Stryder in concert!

JLS

JLS, Olly Murs and Tinchy Stryder will be among the pop superstars performing at The Sunshine Concert on Friday 11 March, and we have two tickets to give away!

All you need to do is visit our Facebook page on Friday 25 February to find out how to enter.

The concert, being held at The Troxy, East London, will raise money for Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity, which grants wishes for seriously ill children in the UK aged 3-18.

Here at Lipsy we're proud to support this great cause and recently donated a cheque for £1,400 from our sample sale, which was used to fulfil the wish of Shannon, a 14-year-old girl living with relapsed Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Shannon dreamt of going to the National Television Awards so the charity arranged for her, brother Ross, who underwent a bone marrow transplant last year to help his sister, and mum and dad to fly from Edinburgh to London and arrive at the event in their very own limousine.

There Shannon mingled with the stars, meeting Myleene Klass, Konnie Huq and Kerry Katona before being taken to her special box to watch the awards.

Shannon's mum Lynsey said: "It was absolutely fantastic! The whole family had a great time and the seats were amazing! Ross got lots of kisses off the celebrities so he was very happy! It was an absolutely magnificent couple of days."

Earlier this month we also helped make the wish of Sophie, a 16-year-old girl who recently had a heart transplant, come true with a visit to Lipsy HQ.

Sophie's wish is to be a designer, so she spent time in our Design Room, getting a few tips from the experts and finding out how the whole process works. As a complete surprise, she also met Pixie Lott and left very happy with a dress and goodie bag.

Lipsy loves...London nightclubs

Celebrity reporter Zoe Griffin gives Lipsy an exclusive insider's guide to London's hottest clubs - essential reading for all party girls!

lipsy london

Whisky Mist

Where? Built into the basement of the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, celebrities love Whisky Mist as they can leave through the underground car park or book a room upstairs.

Why? Club owner Nick House is one of Beyonce's best mates and she always pays a visit when she's in London. This is the place to come if you want to party on a Monday or a Tuesday when DJs tear it up with funky house and electro.

Who? A-list central due to its location near all the five-star hotels, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Paris Hilton have all booked booths in the past six months. It's also convenient for parties - Chelsea FC had its Christmas party here and JLS threw a bash after their album went to number one.

Wear? This is the classiest club due to its Park Lane location, so ooze elegance and style in a chiffon dress or a frill-detail dress. Lace and corsage detail would add to the ladylike vibe you'd want to show off here.

Celeb-spotting: As a Chelsea fan, it was a dream come true to dance with Frank Lampard and John Terry in the club's intimate VIP area. But the best night ever? A Monday night when Rihanna had played a gig in London and invited Jay-Z, Beyonce (and me) to the after-party.

Lipsy Movida

Movida

Where? A short hop and a skip from Oxford Circus tube, Movida is located in the heart of central London on Argyll Street, right next door to the famous London Palladium theatre.

Why? The décor is ultra-luxurious, designed by French designer Sammy Chams who created the glamorous VIP Rooms in St Tropez and Baoli in Cannes. This is the club where you are most likely to see a celebrity and a footballer or two.

Who? Divas that like to party in style! Pixie Lott hosted a Lipsy party here, Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her birthday in the VIP room with Madonna, Stella McCartney and husband Chris Martin, and lovely X Factor winner Leona Lewis is often spotted on the dancefloor with a group of her girlfriends - just letting her hair down!

Wear? Dress to impress in one of the latest bandeau dresses or turn heads in a one-shoulder dress. Pixie Lott always wears dresses from her Lipsy Pixie Party range - sensible girl! If you really want to stand out, try adding some embellishment detail or pick a metallic colour as this is a club where you can go all out to look glamorous.

Celeb-spotting: My favourite ever night at Movida was when Kylie ended up dancing on the tables following her 2008 Brit Award win for Best International Female.

Mahiki

Where? Opposite The Ritz Hotel in London's posh Mayfair area, Mahiki attracts a monied crowd looking to unwind after a long day of work, or of spending their trust funds in Fortnum and Mason and Harvey Nics.

Why? Mahiki bills itself as a Polynesian paradise. You'll find a huge cocktail menu including drinks served out of coconuts and the club's famous treasure chest cocktail - a mix of Mahiki rum, schnapps and fruit juice topped off with an entire bottle of Champagne. Every night is party night at Mahiki!

Who? Princes and Princesses. The bar was set up by Prince Harry's best friend Guy Pelly so both Harry and older brother Wills like to try the samba here. Party princess Paris Hilton is a regular and pop princesses Girls Aloud attend to watch Sarah Harding's boyfriend Tom Crane as the resident DJ.

Wear? There is no strict dress code at Mahiki. Just wear something you can dance in, like a baby doll dress or a harness dress.

Celeb-spotting: My favourite night at Mahiki was when I got kissed on both cheeks by Prince Harry. He was so happy that I told him he was better looking than Prince William that it got me a smacker on both cheeks!

Lipsy Movida

Jalouse

Where? Just off Bond Street in fashionable Mayfair, Jalouse on Hanover Square is the perfect post- dinner club as it's near the celebrities' fave eateries Nobu Berkeley, Cecconi's and Sketch.

Why? This is the most extravagantly decorated club in London - even more bling than Movida. The large crystal droplet installation on the ceiling above the dancefloor is reportedly worth £1 million! Toilets are made from black marble and you can freshen up at silver sinks.

Who? Gorgeous people. Celebrity regulars include Kelly Brook and Alexandra Burke, and Mariah Carey recently hosted a Champagne launch party here.

Wear? Jalouse has a strictly-enforced dress code, with the emphasis on dressing to impress. Girls must wear skirts or dresses and no flat shoes. Show you've made an effort by picking something fabulous from the Lipsy VIP collection or add feather, jewel or sequin embellishment. At Jalouse, there's no such thing as less-is-more. If it shines and it sparkles, wear it!

Celeb-spotting: Jalouse expand the brand by throwing parties in conjunction with different nightclubs around the world. Paris Hilton hosted one in Ibiza, and I saw Mickey Rourke and Snoop Dogg at their Cannes Film Festival celebration. Total decadence!

Bungalow 8

Where? In the basement of London's St Martin's Lane hotel in Covent Garden, Bungalow 8 is ideal for actors and actresses wanting to let their hair down after a West End show or dance off the dinner they had at the nearby Ivy restaurant.

Why? Only members and their guests can frequent this super-exclusive boutique club so celebrities can let their hair down in private. What goes on in the Bungalow stays in the Bungalow! It's owned by Amy Sacco, who set up the Bungalow 8 chain in New York.

Who? Hedonistic honies like Kate Moss (who prefers the booth nearest the DJ) and Lindsay Lohan.

Wear? Look like you haven't tried too hard to be cool. Think Miss Sixty skinny jeans or denim shorts, a tight vest and heels. Add aviator sunglasses just in case you have to leave after being too wild!

Celeb-spotting: Bungalow 8 has been brave enough to let me behind the DJ decks! I entertained Mark Ronson, Daisy Lowe and Alexa Chung.

Pixie's A/W Lipsy launch party is a celeb success

Pixie's a/w Lipsy launch party is a celeb success

Pixie and Lipsy's celeb friends filled up Camden's trendy Gilgamesh bar last week to help our favourite pop star celebrate the launch of her a/w collection.

Having changed out of the pretty lace top smock dress she'd worn for her daytime interviews and PAs, Pixie was party-perfect in her fierce tiger-print bandeau pleat bust dress and vintage-inspired cropped faux fur jacket, accessorising with this season's must-have - the skinny leather belt. We loved how she'd pinned her long wavy hair back to give the illusion of a messy rock-chick bob - a brilliant way to reinvent yourself for a night out!

Pixie Lott

Among the other celebrities partying in the VIP area were Mollie King, Jade Ewen, Konnie Huq, Dionne Bromfield, Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder, the delicious David Gandy and our favourite new boy band The Wanted, all looking even more gorgeous in the flesh - this was one pretty party!

Pixie Lott and celebrity friends

Danielle Lloyd looked amazing in a body-con bandage dress, having snapped back into shape after giving birth just a few months ago, and we also caught up with the stunning Lucie Jones, who was singing the praises of Lipsy dresses.

Pixie Lott and celebrity friends

Pixie said that it had been a "dream come true" to design her own fashion range and thanked all of those at Lipsy who had helped make it happen. However, having been involved in the creative process from drawing board to finished collection, it's us that should be thanking Pixie, so we presented her with an award to recognise the success of her best-selling s/s ranges.

For the rest of the evening the cocktails flowed, the pick 'n mix went down a treat and we did what Lipsy girls do best - partied into the early hours!

Celebs turn out for Esmée Denters party

Esmee Denters

New pop sensation Esmée Denters proved that her star profile is rocketing as the celebs turned out for her VIP party at Movida last week.
To help the Dutch pop star celebrate the release of Love Dealer, collaboration with Justin Timberlake and the third single from her debut album Outta Here, we threw her a party in true VIP Lipsy style.  And it was obvious from the turn-out that the singer's famous following is growing at a very healthy rate.

Esmee Denters

Since she sang on Chipmunk's top-three-single Until You Were Gone, Esmée is a name on everyone's lips, including those of fellow-singer Eliza Doolittle, up-and-coming R&B artist McLean and Hollyoaks' girls Jennifer Metcalfe and Ali Bastian, who got to know the star better in the VIP area.

Of course the girls were all dressed to impress in Lipsy, with Esmée and Ali loving the futuristic trend in the strapless metallic sweetheart dress and metallic structured body-con dress and Jen rocking the florals in the bow jersey corset - all out soon!

Esmée's set was amazing - Outta Here and Love Dealer have been on repeat in the office since the party - and we even got to chat to the party girl herself, so check out our exclusive interview on the blog and snap up her album now!

Esmee Denters talks to Lipsy

Esmee Denters in Lipsy

Hi Esmee, lovely to meet you and congratulations on your new single 'Love Dealer' with Justin Timberlake, it's a great summer song, we love it at Lipsy. So what was it like to be discovered by Justin Timberlake, how did it come about?

It was great! I love to play the piano and cover my favourite songs, I'd upload the covers on to Youtube and that's how Justin discovered me. He invited me to one of his concerts and that was when I first met him. It was very exciting!

What's Justin like in person?

Justin is a real humble guy, he's very down-to-earth and a brilliant artist.

You've also worked with Chipmonk, we love Chip Diddy Chip! How was that?

(Laughs) Chipmonk is cool! I found Chipmonk on Youtube and loved his music. I tweeted about him saying how I loved his music and he tweeted back saying that he liked my music, that's how the collaboration came about. It was the perfect collaboration!

Who do you admire in the music industry?

I look up to strong female artists such as Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Madonna; they have definitely influenced me in my career.

Do you have any celebrity crushes?

(Laughs) Hmm, I'd have to say Lenny Kravitz, he's sooo hot...and (laughing) probably the only man who can pull off wearing leather trousers!!

Do you have any fashion tips for Lipsy fans?

I'd say get creative and don't be afraid! I love to wear cute dresses like this Lipsy dress and my killer Gucci heels to add my own flavour. Always do your own thing and have fun with fashion.

What is it that you love about Lipsy?

I love Lipsy, the clothes are so feminine yet funky! The dresses are very beautiful, they fit great and look amazing on. I'm a girl with curves and Lipsy dresses accentuate my best bits!

How would you describe your style?

My style is fun & sassy. I like to mix casual pieces with real funky accessories, I love accessories!

Do you have any tips/advice for Lipsy fans?

Be yourself- don't be afraid to just do it and grab the opportunity. People will always hate, but my advice is to rise above it, focus on being positive, and do what you want to do!

Do you have any plans for the summer?

I'm planning to spend the summer writing new material and focusing on what to do next. I'll also be watching the World Cup final, I'm from the Netherlands who are in the final, and hopefully I'll be celebrating when they win (laughs)!

Party with Esmee Denters

Esmee Denters in Lipsy

Haven't heard this name yet? You soon will. Justin Timberlake's protégé Esmee Denters was first spotted by music scouts via Youtube two years ago and has since gone onto release her own album and feature on Chipmunk's top 3 single 'Until You Were Gone'.

Her upcoming collaboration with Mr Trousersnake himself is likely to propel her to mega celebdom and she's certainly been dressing like star while in London - having been spotted shopping at Lipsy, and heading out on the town in her new party dress purchases.

To celebrate the release of Esmee and Justin's single 'Love Dealer', we're holding her a party at Movida and have two sets of three tickets to give away to the exclusive event, as well as some CDs up for grabs! Check out our Facebook page on Monday 28th June for your chance to win!

Tulisa and Rochelle wear Lipsy @ Isle of Wight Festival

Tulisa and Rochelle wear Lipsy @ Isle of Wight Festival

Celebs in Lipsy

Tulisa from N-Dubz and The Saturdays' Rochelle were both spotted in Lipsy as the Isle of Wight kicked off the summer festival season. Tulisa performed on the Big Top stage in the VIP bustier feather dress, while Rochelle toughened up our new one shoulder maxi dress with biker boots backstage.

Speaking before they made their festival debut, The Saturdays' laughed about having to get the ferry over to the island, rather than being flown in by VIP helicopter as headliner Jay-Z had. Rochelle also said that things between her and boyfriend - JLS's Marvin - are going so well that they're starting to look at houses together.

Other highlights from the sun-soaked celeb-fest, which saw Kate Moss let her hair down on a fairground ride and Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof catch up in a VIP beer garden, included Pink's high-energy acrobatic set and Kayne West's surprise guest appearance for 'Run This Town' with Jay-Z . Loved it!

Were you at the festival? Did you spot any other celebs in Lipsy? Let us know!

Ibiza preview - where to party, what to wear

Ibiza preview - where to party, what to wear

Kat Perriam, Lipsy girl and Clubbing Editor of IbizaCalling.com, previews the hottest club nights and summer trends to take you through the Ibiza party season.

Lipsy Ibiza blog

Where to party

Last week saw Ibiza's biggest clubs open their doors for the season's launch parties - so what's new on the scene for 2010?

Over two days, Ibiza's longest-standing club Space hosted around 15,000 clubbers ready to see in the season in style. Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada were among the DJs getting the crowd pumped and ready for the treats the club has in store, including new Wednesday party 'Kehakuma', and the return of famous daytime party 'We Love'.

Lipsy Ibiza blog

Pacha, Ibiza town's most glamourous club, is one of the only places to stay open all year round, but the summer is when it really gets going. This year sees a new night from Chilean DJ Luciano - bringing a mystical blend of deep, latin techno to the club - and also welcomes the return of 'F*** Me I'm Famous', run by Ibiza's very own Posh & Becks, David & Cathy Guetta.

Over in San Antonio, Es Paradis is promising to make this year one of its best yet. With its decedent design and gorgeous gardens, it's the ideal spot for a night of hedonism and this summer not only sees the return of Hed Kandi, but also welcomes new nights such as 'GLAS' (Gay, Lesbian and Straight) - the perfect excuse to pull out all the stops and glam it up!

With the party calendar packed to bursting point for the next four months and a host of new parties popping up all over the island, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else this summer!

What to wear

Ibiza's lavish and carefree attitude means that when it comes to planning what to wear, there are no rules!

The opening parties always offer a good taste of what clubbers will be wearing later in the season and this year saw a mish-mash of styles, proving that Ibiza's boho look is still going strong. Think embellished dresses, aztec prints and lots of fringing and beading. Accessorise with ultra-cool gladiator sandals, headbands and bangles stacked high up the arm.

Lipsy's Ibiza essentials

Don't get on the plane without them!

Grecian goddess dress - Party in style at Ibiza's most glamourous clubs in this gorgeous Grecian dress from Pixie Lott's new collection (more stock to come later this month - reserve now).

Beach cover-up - Hop from beach to bar in this stylish sequin trim kaftan- perfect for frolicking on the beach and cocktails at the bar.

Denim short-shorts - A cute pair of denim hot pants will get you far in Ibiza - pair them with your bikini by day and stacked heels by night.

Wild-child bikini - Look effortlessly stylish as you soak up the Balearic sun with this halterneck zebra print bikini.

Tribal neckpiece - It's all about extravagant accessories and this multi-coin necklace will add instant boho bling.

Spotted in Lipsy: Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson at the TV Now Awards

Celebs in Lipsy

Corrie's Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson, who play Sophie Webster and Sian Powers, shone in Lipsy at the TV Now Awards this week.
Brooke went for the Pixie Lott oversized animal-print dress and black killer heels, while Sacha looked every bit the Grecian goddess in our one-shoulder drape dress, finishing off the look with some strappy studded sandals. Messy-up dos were the order of the night and the stars both accessorised with black and gold bangles.
The girls had a lot to celebrate at the Irish event as Coronation Street picked up the 'Favourite Soap' award and fellow Corrie cast-mates Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) took home the 'Favourite Female Soap Star' award. Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) walked off with the 'Soap Legend' title.

Exclusive Pixie Lott celebrity launch party

Exclusive Pixie Lott celebrity launch party!

After the Pixie Lott Bluewater store appearance we headed back to Lipsy HQ to get ready for the exclusive launch party at Movida nighclub in London, and after much fake-tanning, hair straightening and applying of eyelashes we were ready to roll. Here come the Lipsy girls!

Pixie Lott launch party

Sassy songstress Pixie performed an intimate soulful set, including a medley of The Strokes, The Killers and Ce Ce Peniston, as well as her hits 'Cry Me Out' and 'Mama Do' with just an acoustic guitar - and her enthusiastic friends and family - for backing. Her voice was amazing and she was obviously thrilled at how the collection had turned out, thanking Lipsy for the opportunity to turn fashion designer before telling the packed crowd: "see you on the dance floor!".

Kara Tointon, Tina O'Brian, Louisa Lytton in Lipsy

Pixie looked stunning in the animal print dress and wasn't the only celeb celebrating the new collection in Lipsy. Kara Tointon opted for VIP in the bandeau disc dress and Tina O'Brien, Stacey Solomon and Louisa Lytton all embraced the monochrome trend in the sequin-stripe drop hem vest, strapless spotted dress and front-zipped drape skirt dress. We also spotted The Saturdays' Frankie chatting to fans, Calum Best and The Bill's Ali Bastian checking out a number of Lipsy VIP dresses!

What a night and what a collection! We can't wait to see what Pixie has up her sleeve for autumn/winter!

Pixie Lott Lipsy Bluewater store appearance

Tue 04 May 2010

Pixie loves Lipsy- Exclusive Lipsy Bluewater store appearance!

When Pixie launched her debut fashion range for Lipsy we had to celebrate in style, which meant a day and night of parties!

Pixie Lott at Lipsy Bluewater store

First stop was the Lipsy Bluewater store appearance in Kent, where Pixie officially launched her debut clothing collection for Lipsy. Wearing her favourite white pom-pom dress, Pixie cut the ribbon around her two collections - Festival and Party - and signed autographs for hundreds of fans who had queued for hours to meet their favourite pop star.

Pixie Lott at Lipsy Bluewater store

Our Facebook competition winner Rhiannon Lawson and friend loved Pixie's sundresses and said that they're looking forward to seeing her perform at the V Festival this summer, no doubt wearing some of the pieces. Lipsy had a fair few fans in the queue too. Devon Durrant, 14, was already modelling the denim bead-embellished waistcoat, and was clutching her Pixie printed vest top with pride. "She comes in here every weekend," said her mum "she loves Lipsy".

As usual Pixie had brought along family for support, this time in the form of her brother Stephen, who told us that he enjoys hanging out with his little sister when he's not at university studying Economics. But he added that Pixie's fame does come at a price: "Once the press they were following the car whilst I was driving Pixie somewhere and they nearly drove me off the road," he said. "In the end we just stopped at a garage and let them get their shot".

Pixie Lott at Lipsy Bluewater store

After all the madness and a hugely successful day, we left Pixie to relax and unwind for a couple of hours before we got the party started at London nightclub Movida, for a star-studded celebrity bash!

The Brit Awards 2010 - Get The Looks

Wed 17 Feb 2010

The Brits - get the looks

We absolutely loved the Brits this year! Most deserving winners were most definitely Lady Gaga, who scooped three awards and looked amazing in her lace flower body suit and head-piece and paid tribute to the late Alexander McQueen, and JLS, who were grinning like Cheshire cats as they accepted their awards for Best Breakthrough Act and Best British Single. Looking good boys!

So, to the trends of the evening: There were some fabulous frocks on display, and everyone deserved a big fashion tick in our books.Statement shoulders were very much the order of the night, proving that the trend continues to dominate celeb style, with Leona Lewis, Mel B and Alicia Keys going for architectural shapes. Alicia performed her massive hit 'Empire State of Mind' with Best International Male Solo Artist winner Jay-Z wearing a figure-hugging black sparkly mini dress similar to our V-neck sequin dress.

Despite leaving the Brits empty-handed, Pixie Lott looked stunning in a gothic black mini with lace sleeves and retro-inspired hair. Get the look in our low back lace prom dresslace drop waisted dress or Sarah Harding's favourite, the lace panelled jersey dress. Or mix and match with our lace body.

Cheryl Cole's
high-energy performance of 'Fight for this Love' was one of our personal highlights of the evening: She just keeps getting better and better and looked amazing in a Matrix-style white trench and aviators. The trench is a must-have piece the style of the season - check out our ruched shoulder mac and piped belted mac.  After the quickest outfit change of the evening, Cheryl re-appeared for the second half of her hit in a sparkly black backless body - for a less daring take on the look, go for our glitter backless dress.

Vote Pixie Lott at the Brits!

Wed 10 Feb 2010

Vote Pixie Lott at the Brits!

Unbelievably talented singer Pixie Lott has been nominated for 3 awards at this year's Brits. Her three nominations are in the categories of best British Female Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act and British Single for Mama Do. Join us and become a part of 'Team Pixie' by showing support and helping Pixie out by voting for her at www.brits.co.uk/voting. 2010 is set to be an amazing year for Pixie Lott and we can't wait to work with her, when we launch our Pixie Lott ranges 'Pixie Festival' and 'Pixie Party' this summer...Go Pixie!

Pixie celebrates her birthday in Lipsy!

We'd like to wish our good friend Pixie Lott a very happy birthday! Pixie looked fabulous celebrating her 19th birthday in our new Spring season Lipsy draped-sleeve lace dress, studded biker jacket and grecian gold headband. Pixie & friends partyed the night away in London's most stylish celeb hotspots, Boujis & Movida nightclub...She's a true fashionista & we love her!

Stars shine in Lipsy at the Inside Soap Awards

Mon 05 Oct 2009

The soap stars glammed up last Monday night for this year's Inside Soap Awards, with many choosing to make an impression in Lipsy party dresses. It seems that the cast of Corrie have become regular visitors to our Manchester Lipsy store, which was opened by Michelle Keegan who plays Tina McIntyre in the soap. Michelle wore our stunning black, asymmetric glitter mini-dress (sold out!) to take the Sexiest Female award - a title well deserved we think!
